OK, so Cardiff has snow and it also has Winter Wonderland (very pretty outdoor ice rink and big wheel and tree thing.) And London has what? Gloom and doom and ice cold temperatures without there even being a hint of snow

It was -12 degrees C outside this morning, and the snow is all iced over and slippery and not fun. I think I'd prefer the cold temperatures in London without the snow :-)
Half the fun of London is precisely because it is so big... from Mass in Brixton, to Griffin Park in Brentford, to Fabric in Farringdon, London rocks.. I hate to say it but I loath Cardiff, everytime I go there Brentford lose... I like Leeds, but every trip back to London still fills me with excitement in a way only maybe New York can compete... each to their own I guess...
To me, it sounds like you're running down London in exactly the same way some Londoners run down the rest of the UK. London has plenty to be proud of, but if you walk around with your shoulders slouching you'll miss it...
Well then let it be proud, but I don't belong here and I am not going to pretend to like it just because you do ;) If you like it so much then why do you live in Leeds?
You don't hate to say it, you love it really, or you wouldn't have said it at all. I don't like anything about London really. I mean it has good shops and museums and wotnot but I can never afford to go and see anything like that. Visiting somewhere like this is so much better than living here.
