Lord of the Rings was my biggest fandom before Watchmen, and still is. Pippin is the best! He, Sam, Faramir and Aragorn are my favourites. Merry, too, of course. Your Dad and my Mom sound like they'd get along well. She had the older copies of the books
Gaelic Storm is one of the best bands ever. I saw them live back in 2006 and they were amazing. If you ever get the chance, go and see them.
My Dad got me into Abbott & Costello when I was a kid. One of my favourite movies is Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein. So good :)
Aww, Pip, bless. I fell so hard for him in the film, once I could tell him apart from Merry, lol (the scarf helped). I went to I-Con 2002 up in NY just to see Billy Boyd, who played Pip. It was the only con I've been too, and he was just a sweetheart. My first celeb "love" before JEH.
I did see Gaelic Storm a few years back, and it was incredible, if on the short side (just a bit over an hour). Now if I could only see Great Big Sea, my big Celtic trinity would be complete (saw The Chieftains several years ago).
Oh, I love A&C meet Frankenstein. I try to watch it every Halloween, or at least listen to it while I work. :-) The whole bit with Dracula's coffin creaking open while Lou reads about him just kills me.
