Well, Steven Colbert has the "Dead to Me" board. When that's full and he wants to add someone else, he bumps an old entry to another board, the name of which I can't remember. So the thing your prof was talking about must be an extension of that joke that I missed some night.

actually, "Bring Them BACK" is a segment where Colbert lists 3 dead celebrities and says if they should stay dead or "Bring Them BACK"...

also, SC lists things that are dead to him (afterall, reality is in the eye of the beholder, and if you do not exist to him, you are therefore dead, in his mind)
