Another beach vacation come and gone. We had a pleasant, relaxing week in a new-to-us house right next to the Artists' Colony and, as usual, spent most of our time laying on the beach or reading at the house. I have a pretty decent tan now to make up for the sunless winter in AA, but my next task is going to be maintaining it until Move-In. Justine

That's wild - I just finished The Sparrow! Gramma gave it to me a while ago, after telling me about for a couple years. What an incredible book! I couldn't put it down. I have to get the sequel from her. Apart from the fascinating ecological speculation of the Rakhati, I just loved Russell's characters - so fleshed out and complicated. Let me know what you think if you end up finishing it.

Oh, really? Yeah, I remember my parents saying that Gramma was crazy about it, too. I'm mostly having problems with it because I don't have much time to just sit down and read it, but I'm finding it really interesting, too. Like you said, I'm a big fan of the characters. I'll let you know when I'm finished! :)

Thanks, she's doing all right considering everything she went through today. As for me, I'll be fine. Hope you're feeling better from your surgery, too!
