I didn't take many pictures during the storm because I'm lazy, and I only took a couple from the view of my bedroom window. I also took some pictures this morning from the kitchen window...but you'll understand that better in a moment.
While it's hard to tell there, the tree is swaying really heavily back and forth. And it's a big mofo of a tree too. XP There's a lot of water on the window too, and yes that's a reflection of the camera.
Another view, kinda looking up at the tree, which could easily smash into my apartment either near my bedroom or through the sliding glass doors in the living room.
Again, the tree, which was moving a lot, and one of the apartment buildings near it, which I horribly wished that, if the tree had to fall, it would go that way. Also, see that planter? People were supposed to take everything off their porches - and I don't think it's there anymore. I should go look...It was knocked quite a bit already by the wind, and I took these when I still had power? Probably about 3pm?
This is a horrible picture through the sliding glass doors and the staircase of the trees that are behind and how they were whipping around - I was amused, what can I say really?
So those were pictures I took in the early afternoon yesterday. Then I took pictures from my kitchen window this morning.
So that looks pretty bad there, doesn't it? Well, that's what I thought as I was looking out the kitchen window - it didn't look like it was smashed per say but I couldn't tell whether or not there was damage. Now, that little tree, I was worried about it yesterday, it looked like it was going to smash through the kitchen window really with how it was flying about all over the place, but then I was like, well, if it's going to fall over, it's probably going to land in the parking lot. Where my car is. LORD HAVE MERCY.
Well, He did.
God bless powerlines.
Yeah, so that power line was holding the tree just over my car. I was very, very happy about that. I ran upstairs, got ready for work, snapped these pictures and then moved the car. Actually, the tree and the power line are still like that at this moment - and I have power. Life is pretty damn peachy.
So, the car isn't damaged. Which is why I can laugh over the pictures like
and
.
And LJ is being a pain in the ass about this entry, let's see if it works this time...
So, that's life. It really is.
Work got out early today, which was good. There was supposed to be a curfew but it was lifted...
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE AND STEVE!!! <333333333
I'm going to go now, take care!
