Liminal thoughts

Liminality was one of the basic themes of my Dedicant's essays. It seems such an frustratingly ambiguous theme in my whole ambivalent life. Then, I came across one of those tests:

The Dante's Inferno Test has sent you to the First Level of Hell - Limbo!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

Interesting. I seem to recall, though, that the test does a fairly good job of incorporating the Christian idea that giving free rein to sinful thoughts is (nearly) tantamount to taking action on them. Furthermore, recall that some of the sins punished in the Seventh Circle (e.g. blasphemy, sodomy, and counterfeiting) might well not be
classified as sins _of violence_ by most people today, even among those who consider all of them sinful. No, I wouldn't presume to guess your individual answers. :-). I'm glad to see that you rated "Low" for the Fifth Circle, though. (For what it's worth, I think I've taken it twice; on one of the two tries I slipped into
Purgatory, but think I ended up in either Five or Seven on the other one. In the old days, of course, I would certainly have been condemned to Malebolge.)

Yes, but as I answered all the identifiably violent questions "with my pacifistic bone," I cannot imagine where the violence comes in. Ah, well, some of the others don't make sense either, based solely on the answers I gave.
