Help?

Anyone know how/if it's possible to extract and save video clips from a DVD? I know people have video clips of DVD's all the time, but I have no idea how to do that. I have a DVD drive on my computer, but all I know how to do is play it or take screencaps, but I'd like to do something with video clips...There must be some way, right? Thanks if

Someone needs to respond. Cause, heh, i need to know this too! For some reason, i thnk you need a DVD ripping program, but I'm not sure.
