The handwriting is a little large and somewhat loopy.]Hi everybody! It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintances. Name’s Serenity ( Read more... )

Why does everyone pick that name around here?!

It's either some sort of anti gravity technology or it's magic.

Ah...yeah? We'd be in trouble if there was any less.

Exccccccccuse me, little miss center star of the universe! I was also thinking of that crazy zen lady that was here a while back. BEFORE other you. Plus the SPA. It's like the least appropriate name for this hellhole ever.

[She's waving at the journal for real, because hey, who knows?] That's a pretty name! Sounds shiny and [pentap] twinkly! Do you like to go to the farm?

Welcome, Serenity. There is a lot that is lovely here, but we do not know how the islands float. And I do not know what an anti-grav engine is.

Normally there is plenty of food.

[There's a pause.] Oh! I almost forgot. I am Youth! I am sorry. The name is familiar so I was distracted, but your handwriting is different.

An anti-grav engine just makes things float. I figured the islands just had some really big ones.

Pleased to meet you, Youth. I heard there's more than one Serenity so it ain't surprising you didn't know at first I was different.

Oh. How does it do that?

It is good to meet you too! I knew from your writing, but I was thinking back. It has been a while since the one was here.

Yo Serenity~ My name's Smoke. I see you've got a ton of answers already. Hope you're not too confused yet.

Hi Smoke, thanks for the welcome. I'm confused, truth be told, but I'll survive! I'm made of pretty stern stuff!

Hopefully your 'stern stuff' keeps up with this place. It can get wild sometimes.

I reckon my stuff is stern enough to take a few tumbles and be all right. I hope I don't meet none of those giant ants I've heard tell of, though.

Do [...] islands usually float with engines?

Oh but my name's Squall. Nice to meet you!

I don't rightly know. That makes more sense to me than magic. Do you know of islands floating without some kind of power? Aside from the ones here, of course.

Nice to meet you too, Squall.

Magic? You mean like fairytales and things?

But who would want to float islands?

Reply

serene_sunshine October 5 2010, 21:25:48 UTC
Yeah, storybook tales. Don't make much sense, but those islands float somehow, and nobody else seems to think it's anti-gravity technology.

Maybe they just liked to look at them?
