Happy New Year!

*ahem* Now that that's over with, let's move on, shall we?

I got to visit the hospital last year in a not so great state. I spent three days (school days, dang it!) in a personal hell I like to call the ER, a rocking ambulance (40 mph winds yay!), and the children's hospital. The first day started at 2:30am and was spent in a state of misery between all the noise in the ER, the med's that never came before I got sick again, and a haze of sleep and drugs. The Demerol was pushed in too fast the first time I received it and that resulted in a tilting bed and fear. To make a long story short, I didn't have fun in the hospital since natural sleep is impossible when they're trying to revive you from losing a lot of your stomach's contents. The moral of this story is that I hate 60 hour fasts, especially when an escape to Subway is feasible. Curse you Subway commercials.

Anyways.

I really like being over my latest cycle and episode. It's not fun to be sick, but if you are, it's better to deal with a cold and ear infection. Did I mention that I hate my immune system?

In the good news category, I got to see a really awesome person right before winter break. My school gave its students the best day ever (minus church and the never-ending bell concert) which involved cookies and milk for lunch as well as 250 Popsicle sticks held together by one thing of Elmer's glue standing up to various weights. One was proved unbreakable when it withstood 725 lbs, the point when it would be unsafe to go further as the shrapnel could damage the students and, much more importantly, the crashing weights would damage the gym floor. Back to the more awesome topic--Kirinin.

I got out of school two hours early that last day and decided to visit with the old school's crew. I missed my Bethany-chan, but I managed to find my way to a very familiar classroom. Kirinin-sensei just happened to there and we talked for two hours or so, leaving my awesome story to discuss just how crazy my parents are. The answer: very. I remembered just how much I hated my parents and how the half-block between the safe drop-off point and my house could stretch due to relative misery. However, that is beside the awesome point.

A story I have been playing with since August is fleshing out, finally. I only have 2000 or so words, but the bits in my head are delicious. The story has roots in super hero land, but it's taken on a Universe of its own between one character leaving super hero-ing for a reason I have yet to come up with to a character that uses Alternate Universe theory to make whatever benefits him the most be reality. It also includes the most man-verses-himself storyline for me become a man-verses-man storyline in the story. Interesting how that works, yeah? It was also nice that it was worked into the story since October. Awesome sauce.

Anyways, the 'rents are yelling that i need to get off, presumably to join them watching -stupid- football. Seven years, kid, seven years.

Happy New Year all. I hope it's better than last.

P.S. I resolve to write some good stuff.
