I was referring more to the general universe this world is in than the actual island itself. It appears unexplainable things have happened here before, and this is just the most recent. Therefore, it is the fault of this world.

A nargle is a small creature that lives inside mistletoe. Apparently, the ones that live in this mistletoe anger easily, and this is obviously the result of their curse.
