Weevils ...

Ewww .... I just opened up a new bag of rice and there were weevils inside. It makes my hair stand when I see these black things crawling around! I've never had weevils in my rice at home. Try sunning your rice under the hot sun. Then throw in garlic or dry chillies.

ya .. where would the weesils run to?? migrate to somewhere else in the cabinet or just perish?

Don't know! They're still in the rice container. Grr ... going to try the dried chilli, bay leaf and towel method tips that the rest left me.

Hi, I've had that problem before. I freeze the rice (more like the weevils) in the freezer and take them out when they're all dead. Then well, sort them out one by one (yeah, that's what I did!). It happened to me twice, so on the second time, I checked before I opened the bag to pour the rice out.

Garlic does help prevent.

Oh, and do check your pastas too, cos my lasagne sheets got attacked! (And so did my bottle of honey ... sigh.)
