*hugs* - I think you've got the right idea in being positive about her exploring this stuff, and talking about it with her... you're such a good mom :-D
I totally understand. I'm a Wiccan High Priestess and though I'll raise my daughter in Wicca, she has a few godparents. They were carefully chosen because of their religious backgrounds. I'm even godmother to my niece who is episcopalian and to 3 daughters of a close friend who are all catholic. (My husband who is godfather fullfilled the requirement that 'one' godparent be catholic. He's pagan now but was catholic at one time, even confirmed.)Elora's godfather is catholic, my godmothers are Wiccan w/christian background, pagan with christian background different from the first lady, and my sister who is episcopalian. Also, one grandmother is protestant, and a close friend is Buddist. I hope she will be able to attend many churches and with all of us together, she'll find her own personal relationship to "God".
Anyway, my heart is with you. It isn't easy, but you are doing right by your youngster.
That's a splendid layering of diversity you've got there! Wow!
And I SO agree... letting the youngsters try out different belief systems, and supporting their journey means to practice (literally) what we've always preached, and that's to learn about and accept others even as they're different.
