Little by little, what's left of me gets chipped away.....

Following on from the vertigo/dislocated shoulder/broken tooth saga, I was looking forward to a quieter week where I could just rest, take everything at my own pace and not stress about things. The week started out pretty good, I'm getting better movement back into my shoulder again, although I have to be careful with repetitive motion as that ( Read more... )

I get angry reading this - because it's so unfair! And I understand totally the frustration about having to cut your hair, because it is all those trivial things that matter, because it is those trivial things that you can control and, and when you lose that was well, then that just suck!!!! Big time!

I don't know Richard, but I must say that he seems like a really good husband! You deserve a good husband, so I hope my impression of him is correct!

Thanks sweetie! I'm just glad that what I was trying to say was actually understandable, because it started to feel like I was just babbling there towards the end, lol.

Richard is just amazing. I don't know what I would do without him. I'd be a hell of a lot dirtier, that's for sure!!! =P

I can completely understand how much your hair means to you. Mine is nearly waist length and I'd hate to have to cut it.

What is your routine at the moment? I've spent a lot of time reading up on haircare techniques, perhaps I can help come up with something that will be easier for you?

The LHC (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/index.php) is great for advice, they're really helpful in coming up with answers when people ask for help.

The LJ longhair group (http://community.livejournal.com/longhair/) is useful too, though it's far less active than the LHC.

I really hope that you can find some way of keeping you hair the way that you want it. I know what a horrid thing ME/CFS is, and to have to deal with this as well must be horrendous.

I'm using Ojon, which I love, I use the restorative treatment and then the hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

Cutting it is really for the best. It's getting so horribly tangled and trying to get it combed or brushed is becoming such a chore (well not for me, lol for Richard - but it is taking forever) and trying to get the knots out - no matter how carefully we do it - jerks my neck which in turn causes more problems from the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It'll also be so much quicker to wash and dry as well. It's the sensible option. Maybe I can grow it again at a later date.

I'm just feeling a little sore over it all tonight.

Oh, it totally makes sense, and I'm so sorry. If I ever had to cut my hair because of reasons out of my hands, I'd be devastated. And sure, it might be for the best, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. *hugs*

There's been a few things that I've had to do where the decision has been 'made for me' in the past while because of the EDS or whatever, and it sucks that I'm not in control of even those smallest decisions, you know? Ah well. It's only hair, I suppose. It can grow back!

I'm sorry. I wish I had more than words and prayers to give you, but I don't. So, all I can say is I will keep praying and keep thinking of you. Illness can never rob you of that. As one sufferer of chronic illness to another, that I can promise you.

These are very good. I use that conditioner b/c my hairdresser made me.

Your hair that remains at shoulder length is still beautiful.
Because it is attached to you, you see.

Oh dearheart! You are so lovely, I want to hug you and not let you go! But then you wouldn't get that piece finished and we can't have that, can we? =)
