Drabbles

I wanted to write the pilot bonding story where John and Wash swap stories, try to teach each other how to fly fireflies and helicopters, and eventually go dino-watching. It would have been called "Crazy Ivans and Hail Marys." It pretty much refused to work, but then it did the Tremors thing where as it dies it spawns all the evil little flying ( Read more... )

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Now this is exactly the sort of thing I like to encourage. *grin*

I'm thinking of giving Kaylee the gene in my stories--cause it'd drive McKay even more nuts than she already drives him just with her "natural talent" *g*--but that's one of the fun things about a joint universe--the only real canon is how they got there and why they can't go home, everything else is up for grabs. *g* (For example, I wrote one Mal/Teyla fic but I also plan to write some Mal/Inara ones. ;-) )

Oh, and I *love* how you worked in the T-rex planet! Wash and Zoe's respective reactions were perfect! :-D

Thanks!

giving Kaylee the gene

Oh lord, the trouble she could get into with that. I had a line where McKay was calling her My First Toolbelt Barbie, but if she actually has the ability to mess with the systems...

For Inara, how do you see her handling the situation? I figured most of them could probably adapt pretty well- Wash wasn't having problems with the universe, per se, just with being unable to fly. But it seems like Companions are very specific to the culture and support system that they've left behind.

I'm still not 100% sure about that myself, except that I think she'd have a harder time adjusting than the others. Plus, poor Elizabeth--the diplomat in her doesn't want to try to force Inara into their cultural mold, but she's not exactly keen on the idea of Inara servicing her team either. *grin*

I have a weird feeling Inara might want to move to the mainland with the Athosians--they might have an easier time accepting her for who she is. That or she and Mal could take advantage of the opportunity afforded by her Companion career being ended through no doing of either of theirs... ;-)

Either way, I may have to let someone else handle that--I seem to have no Inara muse whatsoever, at least that's spoken up yet, which is odd considering she's one of my favorite characters. :-o

Yeah, she is the only one whose job doesn't exactly transfer. But I definitely like the idea that there's suddenly much less keeping her from having an actual relationship.

Hee! YAY! My very favorite crossover and I'm glad to see such wonderful drabbles.

Loved that John wants to take Wash to the Rex planet :)

Yeah, I may be slightly fixated on that planet.

You icon kind of scares me. It's probably a very good thing that she arrived in this universe *after* they finished messing with Arcturus.

It gives me a lovely mental image of the two of them getting totally smashed on Athosian ale and Kaylee's homebrew so that when they tell stories about their crazy pilots hijinks there's lots of arm waving and tripping over furniture.

OH. MY. GOD!

*doesn't know whether to cry from happiness or burst into tears of AW-John-SQUEE mixed with I-Miss-Wash-ANGST--tries to do both*

OUCH!

If that semi-disorganized response doesn't sum it up, then how about...

I love you. *hugs your knees and cries a little*

Loved it. 'Specially the first and last. The first because it did a lovely job of summing up the Serenity crew with so few words. The last because -- well, because I do, dammit. Because it helped me know the two characters, even though I've never watched SGA.

Oh, SGA is great. John Sheppard is *totally* the sort of person who would take the strange people from another dimension joyriding... as long as he knew it wouldn't put Atlantis in any danger.

Glad you liked it!
