Final Gift for frodolyn

Mar 26, 2009 19:03

Hi, frodolyn! I'm jazzfic, your backup Santa. The sled suffered a slight prang and had to wait for a tow. Let's pretend it's not March!

Title: The Great Unpredictable
Rating: G
Pairing: Wash/Zoe
Words: 1,376
Summary: It had become a yearly battle of wills, seeing which of them could outdo the other on their anniversary.

In some ways, this was what had drawn them together in the first place. The great unpredictable, Wash liked to call it. She had to admit, he'd named it well. )

Oh, I love this, it's so sweet and yes, unpredictable. I did not guess that they would be arrested. I love Zoe and the way she can't help loving Wash's goofiness and the way Wash is so good to his wife. Fantastic!

I love it! Thanks so much Santa! What better way to celebrate Christmas than to drag it out all year! ;p

"It wasn't that she didn't want to settle down, or find a husband, or--lord forbid--fall head over bullet-grazed heels in love. It was simply that the notion on its own felt ridiculous, like a dream always one sudden blink from vanishing. What was she thinking, looking at this man and actually picturing a life growing old together, while she followed Mal out of one near escape only to leap into the fiery belly of another? It wasn't just ridiculous--it just wasn't, full stop. "

I love it so much! I think you've really touched on the reason I adore these two, and especially why I adore Zoe, she's so hard and battle weary, but at her core she's a woman and she has a certain set of needs -- one of which is just to be loved. <3

Thank you so much!!

Thank you! I hadn't written anything with Zoe and Wash for a good while, so I'm thrilled that you liked it. They're such a great duo and deserve much love, I think :)

Just you wait, it'll be December again before we know it (wow, scary thought!) :D
