This is Homecoming week at the D's high school. One of the slightly annoying but a little bit fun too traditions is TP'ing the homes of your friends - particularly the football players, cheerleaders and dancers. Since my son was a football player when he was in h.s. we've been through this many times before. For whatever reason, kids these days (*waves cane*) are a LOT more aggressive and destructive.
Around midnight last night, we discovered that not only were all our trees and bushes TP'd , our patio furniture from the backyard was now in the driveway, and the worst was all of my neighbor from across the street's garbage was strewn from one end to the other, about 5 bags worth.
Not a happy or fun scene in the slightest. I gave everyone latex gloves to wear and we had to shovel it all back into garbage bags. Nothing like seeing and handling your neighbors garbage in the wee hours. Today is garbage day so it had to be done then. Disgusting, doesn't even begin to cover it.
D has been told that she will NOT be participating in any more TP raids this week, and to put the word out that I will call the cops and possibly kick some asses if anyone hits our house again. GRRRR. *tries to look tough* *fails*
I'd always heard the supposed story about how Kristin gave Tom a hand during their audition process, but I'd never seen the actual story documented anywhere. I finally have
the link - and it's from an article/interview during the 2004 Paley's.
Welling and Kreuk, who had just met, were performing a scene for a roomful of WB executives late in the audition process. "She's got her back to the crowd, and there's a moment in the scene where it's really hushed, and I realize I don't know my next line," Welling says.
"She whispered to me, 'Are you okay?,' and I sort of [gave her a look] that I wasn't. "So she mouthed the line to me, and it just clicked. ... When we were done, everyone was like 'Wow, that was a great moment.'"
I can't help but think that Kristin would have done WHATEVER she possibly could to get this gorgeous young man cast with her. The girl's no dummy. Anyway, I love that story. <3
Speaking of the 2004 Paleys -- I know I've worked with these pics before, but I... I... just can't resist the pretty.
This is an older piece, that I'm reposting mostly for
nwhepcat , who I thought might enjoy it. You would never know that she's fairly new to SV fandom if you read her insightful and moving
new fic. It delves a bit deeper into the characters during Clark's (Kal's?) Exile adventures.
A little love for Martha, a mom who would probably handle the TP'ing event with a bit more finesse.
