So I was home sick today and took that as the universe's way of telling me to finish watching S2 of Teen Wolf. And like I said, I'm sick, so this is probably less filtered than it otherwise would be, so please understand, but I have to say: Derek/Stiles? Where did THAT come from? I do not see it at all, I think all you people are smoking something

I drank the Kool Aid before ever seeing the show, but even then, I watch and see the *true* OTP about 30% of the time, or something. But yeah, incessently reading the fic, so.

This is probably where the "Teen Wolf fandom is obvs watching a different show" thing comes from, though judging by what I've seen on tumblr, that holds true on a number of different levels.

I think I'd be overjoyed for lots more Finstock and lots more Papa Stilinkski, honestly.

Ha, I almost said exactly that, because seriously, I was waiting for The Moment where I'd be all "OH THAT's where it comes from!" and I just...never saw it! Honestly, it's just weird, because usually I am all about whatever the popular pairing is in a show, especially when it's THIS popular and I just don't think that's going to be me for this show.

Finstock is AWESOME, and I kind of want to read gen fic about him (which, hi, I NEVER care about gen fic). I dig all the grownups quite a bit, actually. Well, except for Allison's mother, she annoyed the crap out of me. I was not sorry to see her go. Or Grandpa Tigh (which I cannot help calling him in my head). It was hilarious watching him chew up the scenery, though.

I've managed to separate out my love for the show for my love of the fic, but I still find moments on the show where I *do* see the UST or whatever, but mainly I like the Stiles-Derek interchanges where they occur and just leave the rest for fic. EASILY PLEASED.

Oh god, Finstock with the ID4 speech still kills me just thinking about it. And Stile's reaction, and Melissa's, and it was PERFECT. I too dig all the adults (except Victoria, who's one great moment - for me - was bitching about how kids these days don't know how to smoke pot properly, or whatever) and want to see more of them. And Danny, and Lydia...and maybe just less Scott?

YEEEES. I don't know how it would happen, but I approve. My favorite parts of any TW fic really are the gen ones, really, because god help me, I'm horrible and do like the pack mom trope.

Ahaha, I can't decide if I'm embarrassed or proud that I recognized Finstock's ID4 speech *instantly*. (Okay, also, he's a little adorable, too).

I think the actual Stiles-Derek exchanges on the show are really quite funny and entertaining, I just see no UST. And honestly, I don't really see the attraction with Stiles in the first place. He's too scrawny and looks too much like an *actual* teenager. But he's hilarious and one of my favorite characters, so whatever!

I think Lydia is GREAT, and actually like her and Jackson together (but seriously, I would read Derek/Jackson in a hot minute). It's too bad Colton Haynes isn't going to be on the show next season, I'd be intrigued to see what they would do with his character.

I love Derek/Stiles, and yet...I have no idea why. It really doesn't exist on the screen. Pretty much a pure fan invention. I guess, Stiles is adorable and Derek is hot? :)

This is true! I'm mostly just surprised, because like I told Plum, I am usually all about the most popular pairing in a fandom, and this one seems to have somehow passed me by.

That was pretty much my reaction as well. Alas, I have no answers for you. The Teen Wolf fandom baffles me completely. (I would also have expected more Danny/Stiles, IDEK, man)

If I were show runner, Danny/Stiles is totally the ship I would make canon (it would be so sweet and adorable! And also I'm kind of a jerk...).

I kind of OTP Stiles Dad and Scott's Mom and have much headcanon for them. Like there was shitty boyfriend of hers in the past that he found out about and put the fear of god into, and then there was after Stiles Mom died, and he was drinking way too much,and a wreck, and he ended up at the hospital w/ some stupid accident and she helped bandage him up and ended up taking him home (because Stiles was sleeping over hers, as he did a lot those days), and there was drunken crying and comforting and some kissing that should have been way more awkward than it was, but then it got way more awkward afterwards to make up for that, sort of. And they NEVER TALK ABOUT IT

I think it's mostly that the actors have a good deal of chemistry, even though the characters' chemistry is more of the antagonistic variety right now. It's one of those 'ships I have where I don't really enjoy how most people write it; fandom likes to jump right into the underage smut, whereas I don't think it would work with a long, slow buildup and a great deal more friendship under the bridge. Pretty much no one writes it that way, though.
