I find it's often folly to look for patterns and purpose in the events of our life, both the bad and the good happen.

I'm sorry that many of you friends from high school are drifting away, kitty, but that happens, of all my friends from Grant I only keep in touch with two or three.

Your friends from high school are going through changes, just as you are. People change in different ways and in different directions. It does not mean that they care about you any less or that they think less of you for any reason. We are not, in high school, who we will become as adults.

You are fortunate that you kept in touch with them as long as you have. I lost most of my high school friends in the span of an hour, shortly after graduation from high school.

You will keep the ones that you cherish the most, darling. Whether you realize it or not.
