Serioussam Begins

Every time someone disses a movie I like, I try to defend it, but mostly give up. It's a testament to my slacker virtues that movies like Ocean's Twelve(beatzo hates it, and with good reason), The Mummy (everyone loves to hate it), and Crouching Tiger(well this one actually is kinda overrated, but you get the picture) go undefended ( Read more... )

Was fun reading your opinion :-)

Might be even more fun once Raja lands up, hope he's in the mood ;-)

Heh. I wrote this after I had a longish chat with Raja about the various merits and demerits of the movie. He's thinking of a stinging reply right about now.

'ello, folks.

. I always try to steer clear of the influence being exerted by all the hype and posters and trailers.

hehehe.. Please not Sam doesn't mention poring over every single AintItCoolNews review for each big film among the things he doesn't do. Also, each review is fwd'ed to me with a frustratingly seductive warning: 'Spoilers, dude, but what a read! Wow!'

*growls*

That said, my brother, awesome post. Me is smiling, and nowhere near stinking. I had a long long Bat-conversation with another couple of friends, and I guess I need to make a post too, to complete the circle started by you and Beat.

Oh, and I love O-12.

:D

nonono... I don't really have much respect for Harry Knowles and his minions. I rarely go to that place.

I am, however, guilty of reading spoilers about a movie a lot. I just can't wait! If the script is available online, well, more power to the internet.

But, as I said, I try to steer clear of the influence exerted by the hype. Steering clear of the hype is impossible. You just don't let it build up or break down your movie experience.

oh, and I said stinging. You're too big to stink, bro. :)

Goyer should be kept away from writing dialogue as far as possible. If you think the dialogue in Begins was clunky, do watch the third Blade.

Well, that's one politically correct explanation... I've heard all sorts of reasons, and most of them include Tom Cruise and stuff he makes the poor girl do.
