I've lived in jaipur a couple of times. So of course, I don't remember a damned thing about it. Oh, wait, yes, I do.

I once had my hair cut right next to Maharani Gayatri Devi. I must have been like 8 at the time. Don't really remember anything about it - I'm just told that it did happen. It stuck with me because when I next came to Jaipur, I was enrolled in the Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls Pulic School.

I saw her palace from afar. She has one to live in all by herself, and no one else allowed until she decrees it so. I could do with one of those.

Next time? Visit Jaisalmer. Please. It's spellbinding, romantic (moreso than Udaipur) and very "Rajasthan-like."
