I've noticed a big difference between here and FB. Not good or bad, just different...different vibe.

On lj, there are friends that I know more about, have talked to about deeper subjects, but don't know as much 'in person' (and in some cases have never met in person!) ;) But on fb, it's like a reunion of friends and family I knew at one time, but lost contact with, or don't see as much. It's a much more casual feel on there, and (at least with a lot of my friends) sillier sometimes. :D

I don't think one is better than the other...in fact, fb has made it possible for me to share things with extended family without leading them to my lj! lol! I can choose what I want to share with what audience...I think of fb as more of a connecting tool, a PR tool, and lj is where I can actually discuss things and document things. I like both for each reason, and they both make the other that much more important! :)

I know what you mean. I definately prefer LJ--it just seems so much more personal and I feel like I know everyone so much better (thoughts, dreams, hopes, etc) than on fb where it's mostly surface things.
