Harry Pottering: debunking the Love Potion Theory

I just wanted to say, i have recently finished re-reading Half-Blood Prince, and i am no longer a believer in the Love Potion Theory.

( This is a Harry Potter post. It's likely to be waffly! )

Well yes, there was even a small amount of canon evidence to that effect ... until murderer!Jo gave Cedric an appointment with Lord Voldemort. *grrrrr*

It's no wonder we have to resort to fanfic, with such pairings as Harry/Ginny and Remus/Tonks(?!!!) in Book 6. Oh and who could forget Bill/Fleur!! I do hope Book 7 has some more interesting romance twists.

I'd quite like to see more of that Muggle girl that George Weasley fancies. And Neville/Luna completely needs to happen! ;) A bit of Seamus/Dean would top things off just perfectly, in my imaginery world! :) :)

hmmm, interesting. i quite like the idea of the love potion theory (is it a widespread theory btw? i don't read up on many HP theories and have only really heard it from you!) as i don't really like the idea of harry suddenly falling in love with ginny. i didn't have a lot of patience for book 6 as most of it seemed too much like bad fanfiction, except for the last 100 pages....

i got a bit stuck in the rereading the series mission i set myself as i realised there's no way i'm going to have time to read 4-6 before the 21st july! but, i think if i get around to it, i'll def look out for clues for the love potion theory.

we never did get around to meeting up did we, are you free this saturday?

No, i don't think it's a widely held belief. I just read it somewhere and completely latched on to the theory because i didn't like Harry being with Ginny and needed an alternative explanation!

Now i'm wondering if i can somehow adapt the Love Potion theory to explain away Remus and Tonks! I'm heavily in denial about that pairing, and as far as i'm concerned there's no canon proof of it anyway! ;)

I could be free this Saturday, but the trouble is i am REALLY short of money at the moment. I don't know if you could get to Winchester at all? That would be splendid if you possibly could ...?

well i have a driving lesson on saturday so i could technically ask to be dropped off in winchester, but i'll have to check with my instructor in advance.

that close? eek there's no way i can read 4-6 before then!

why don't you like tonks/remus by the way?
