Janet, this post made me insanely happy. You have no idea. :) The hugger busker is AWESOME. :)
My best friend, I just found out this week, is moving back to Montreal. She offered for me to move up there in an apartment with her after the year's over and maybe look for some design work in the city. I didn't say no.
Though, I'm taking a week during the holidays to go up and see her. :) Your pictures are beautiful, and being a francophone myself and judging on my family, we really do have it good. I've been told that I'd love the city based on what I like and my personality type, and I just can't wait to go up and see for myself.
I'm still smiling from this post.
And you're still going to be bugged for your number!
So are you telling me you've never been to Montreal? Tsk, tsk. And yes, DO take the apartment. It's cheaper to live here than Toronto, and YOU WILL be happy. I am sure of that.
*Sigh* Noooo, I haven't been to Montreal yet. Well, that's technically a lie. I went to La Ronde with my uncle, aunt and cousins back in '97. But that doesn't count, because we just went in and out of the city. :P
I saw Hugger Busker too last month!!! :D Oh, Janet - hey, Janet. I called you when I was in Montreal but I got all i got was the voice of some lady on the answering machine and then I hung up and then....sorry, I forgot to call you back. I tried both numbers but when I called the one, it said that i was calling long distance so I didn't stay on the phone.
Awwwww, but Montreal was FAN-TAS-TIC and I would go back again soon :D However, U of M residence was not soo fun, we were put in some lamo residence and not the one they advertised. Plus customer service sucked...But I did have a wicked time downtown, at Mont-Royal, the St. Joseph's oratorium, and in Old Montreal :D AND, I ate a beaver tail and it was GOOOOD!
I live with three roommtes, and I bet what you heard on the answering machine was the voice of one of them. Fear not! I live there too... but that's irrelevant now. =P
I heard about the hugger over the cbc radio. they did a special on it, and it was absolutely wonderful. it made me want to drive over to montreal just for a hug. beautiful pics btw.
i know this sounds really odd, but i found your name in the montreal community and i was wondering if you could do me a favor? I am completely and totally in love with Aero bars and they don't sell them here in the washington, dc area. I know they have them all over canada. could we arrange an exchange- i could pay you via paypal or something if you could ship some to me.
