Things always seem bad, until you look back at them. Then you realize that what is actually happening at the present is much worse. It's kinda like a game. on being legal: it's not that you're allowed to have sex at 18. you can have sex whenever you want. it's that people over 18 can have sex with you, lol. there's laws about that (in some states. in kansas, you can get married at 12 if you have parental permission, and recently a 14 year old girl married a 22 year old guy whose baby she just had, but let's not talk about that because it makes me upset).

i'm glad you had a good time at the masquerade ball. and i don't know how well you read russian, but if you do passably well, you should read sergei lukyanenko. he's sci fi and profound about life in a way i think you'd like.
