Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: This character suffers from Dissociative Personality Disorder, and his three distinct personalities all have differing abilities, so I'm going to talk about each separately.

Agito is an Air Treck or AT rider - imagine an extreme inline skater whose skates are really high tech and motorized, powerful enough to allow for flight, and double as weapons. As a bare minimum, AT users can scale vertical walls and surfaces, skate really fast, perform various acrobatic tricks, as well as fight mid-air, high above the ground. (It should be noted that AT 'flight' is more like really prolonged, powerful jumping.)

The top riders in the underground AT community are called “Kings,” and Agito is one of these. Each King (or Queen) has their own unique “road”, that is, a distinct style of skating (and fighting) - similar to, say, variations in martial arts schools. There are eight major roads, and eight Kings/Queens corresponding to each of these.

Agito, then, is the Fang King of the Bloody Road. As the title may suggest, this makes him a particularly offensive-minded, violent rider; his “road” is said to be carved directly onto the opponents' flesh. Most characteristic of his skates is the ability to create “fangs” -- shockwaves of highly pressurized air that are then thrown at the opponent at incredible speed. However, in order to be able to produce such an intensely powerful attack, the skates must sacrifice their jumping power: Agito's ATs aren't capable of vertical jumps, and he has to make up for it with wall scaling and horizontal jumping instead (or otherwise cooperate with other riders to carry him up.) The usage of hooks and chains as offensive weapons are another characteristic of the Bloody Road. Agito has an arsenal of other and related attacks that he can use, a list of which can be found at the end of this section.

Agito is also his team's primary strategist. Additionally, he is known as a “Genius Fighter” for his ability to remember and replicate tricks and techniques after only seeing them once.

Lind is another personality contained within the same body. For the most part, he remains dormant unless Akito and Agito are in serious trouble. Lind's personality is a direct copy of another AT rider named Gazelle. Gazelle was the result of a bioengineering experiment that immensely increased her mental capabilities - physically, she was no different from a regular person, but her mental ability lent itself to an inhuman level of fighting skill. (This doesn't mean Gazelle or Lind are geniuses in all other aspects; the Brain Charger, as it is called, seems to be focused solely on combat-related intelligence.) Gazelle was also a King-level rider: the original Thorn Queen of the Sonia Road. Both her Brain Charger ability and her fighting style have been passed on to Lind.

The Sonia Road is a defensive road - whereas the Bloody road inflicts great damage onto the opponent directly, the Sonia road lends the user extreme flexibility and ability to outmaneuver the opponent. It does so at the expense of inflicting incredible pain and pressure on the user. The Sonia Road, then, is the exact opposite of the offensive Bloody Road. Lind, however, has been able to merge aspects of the two, creating a hybrid road that, according to another King, combines “the 'Thorn's' flexibility with the 'Fang's' sharpness and destructive power.” It's implied that his fighting ability supersedes even Gazelle's now.

Last, but not least, Akito is the personality who refuses to fight directly. However, he was the original Fang King before Agito's creation, and is said to be the stronger rider of the two.

Despite his overt pacifism, Akito will cooperate with Agito in times of need. Akito and Agito “switch” by switching their medical eye patch from one eye to the other: the right eye is Agito's, and the left is Akito's. If the eye patch is taken off, they will both be present, but Agito is the one left controlling the body. This allows Agito to gain some of Akito's strength and skill without making Akito fight directly. In general, the three personalities will often either switch up, take over, or work together if and as necessary to protect their body from harm.

Their body is probably their largest limitation. As with all serious athletes, they undergo immense physical strain on a daily basis. But that's not all - King-level attacks and weaponry are so powerful that the damage they inflict on the user's body is far worse than what a normal rider would have to endure. To function at their best, Kings absolutely require a “tuner”, a mechanic who can attune their skates perfectly to the natural biological rhythms of their body. While it is possible for a King to fight without a tuner for a long time, even years (as evidenced by Agito, who was without a real tuner for most of the story so far,) they will not be able to fight at their full strength, and will be more liable to serious injury from the strain of using the AT. That said, Agito's AT have recently been tuned, so he will not have to worry about this factor for at least a little while.

Here is a list of their tricks.

Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A
Weapons: Agito's and Lind's main weapons are their Air Trecks: motorized inline skates that can be used to propel them into the air and, among other things, create shockwaves. To be entirely frank, Oh!Great's science often ranges from the wildly implausible to “OH GOD WHAT WAS HE SMOKING”, but basically their particular type of ATs work by utilizing the power of inertia. Agito/Lind will accelerate rapidly from zero and then come to a sudden stop, and then convert the resulting momentum into a shockwave. As mentioned before, the Bloody Armour Regalia - the core of Agito's/Lind's AT - doesn't allow for vertical jumps, and is therefore sometimes referred to as the Regalia that cannot fly.

They are also seen using hooks attached to belts on their clothing to slice, tear at, and immobilize their opponents.

Character Personality:

Of the three, Agito is the dominant personality and also the youngest. As he was created exclusively to fight when Akito could not, he is appropriately violent and vicious. Agito lives for the thrill of survival, of taking down a deadly opponent. He has absolutely no reservations about seriously hurting, even killing people who willingly pick a fight with him. He's vulgar, short-tempered, and if Ikki got a penny for every time Agito said 'fuck', he would never have to be poor again. Quite appropriately, his in-series symbol is a great white shark.

That said, Agito isn't just the Angry Kung-Fu Guy. In fact, it's stated outright several times over that his true strength comes from his desire to protect Akito, and, later, the people on his team, Kogarasumaru. He's also a smart strategist who has proven himself very useful when navigating the complex politics of the AT world (this is particularly important as Kogarasumaru's leader, Ikki, is a total newbie to AT.) He continues to act as Kogarasumaru's and Ikki's frequent advisor on these matters. He has also shown himself skilled in tactical combat. It's likely he's picked up quite a bit of tactical knowledge during his time with the special forces team lead by his brother. No wonder, then, that as the most experienced fighter in the team, Agito fulfils the role of Kogarasumaru's tactician.

For all of his perceptive prowess, he has time and time again proven himself hilariously oblivious to romance and girl-related things - at least in relation to himself. Out of Kogarasumaru's full assortment of horrible perverts teenage boys, Agito is the only one who has never shown any overt interest in romance at all. In general, his social skills are a bit questionable! He has trouble with overt affection, and is more likely to get flustered and irritated when it is bestowed upon him. If he's complimenting someone, he must inevitably couch the sentiment in twice as many insults, and it's the people closest to him who, arguably, will take the most verbal abuse from him.

However, Agito's biggest weakness doesn't lie in his tsundere tendencies, but rather his tendency to doubt himself (and others.) It takes him a long time to trust other people, and he is suspicious of everyone and everything, especially following Akira's early betrayal. It should be said that his paranoia is generally not all that unreasonable - the AT underground is a dog-eat-dog world, and not only in the physical fighting sense. Ikki in particular is a man everyone wants a piece of, and Agito's suspicion of people's motives has proven itself to be warranted more than once.

The real problem lies in his habit of questioning his own abilities and even the reason for his existence. If his only purpose is to protect Akito, then what happens when Akito doesn't need protection any longer? Will he simply disappear? Does Agito have a right to be his own person, to want to stay longer than the time he's allotted? Is it selfish for him to follow his own goals, to put Akito's body in harm's way to do what Agito himself enjoys - AT, and fighting? Would it be better if Agito simply disappeared? And what about his weak, small body? Will he be strong enough to protect Akito, to help Ikki, to stop Lind from taking over their body? A lot of these doubts are things he has managed to work on and work through in the course of the series, but they're also deep enough that they're unlikely to disappear entirely for a long time, and especially as he's faced with increasingly powerful opponents.

That said, despite his hangups, he is resilient and determined to achieve his goals. Like most AT riders, Agito lives to fly and flies to live, and even if he will rarely admit so openly, he loves the sky. Being stuck on the ground, to Agito, feels every bit like being trapped in a cage, and he would be devastated if he ever lost his ATs or the ability to skate permanently.

Agito is intensely protective of Akito, and while he respects Lind's skill, he deeply dislikes him and his designs to take over their body.

Akito is the second-youngest personality, and the most “normal” one. He doesn't fight (although he is a King-level rider in theory), and usually finds himself on the cheering sidelines where Kogarasumaru is concerned. He's very bubbly and cheerful, openly affectionate, and unafraid to stand out or incur negative attention. He falls for Ikki within moments of seeing him, and thinks absolutely nothing of giving this total stranger (whom Agito was attempting to fight just moments ago) a kiss on the lips. Or of sleeping in his bed. Or running naked through his house. In general, Akito is not a guy who appears to possess a whole lot of shame or self-doubt. It's not that he doesn't see the way people react to his open affection, sometimes inappropriate cheer, and streaker behaviour, it's just that he... really isn't concerned with said reaction. He's not hurting anyone, after all. ♥

That said, Akito's cheer sometimes really is somewhat inappropriate. Although he refuses to fight any longer, he's obviously used to violence - it takes a true crisis situation to honestly frighten Akito. In fact, so far the only people he seems to really be scared of are Kaito and Lind. He will happily deal with very dangerous people and things as long as they aren't trying to directly hurt him - and if they are, he will simply switch to Agito and let him handle that side of things. Perhaps this is a holdover of the dysfunctional and abusive relationship he's had with Kaito: dealing with dangerous, violent people is simply the norm, as far as Akito is concerned. Agito also mentions at least once that a truly angry Akito is far scarier than a pissed-off Agito. And indeed, when Ikki gets himself a love interest who seems to reciprocate his feelings, the cheerful smile Akito gives the two of them is both somehow poisonous and far, far creepier than anything Agito has done up to that point.

He is a stated pacifist, but doesn't condemn fighting, and in fact, realizes that AT battles are at the core of the AT culture. His great protest is against the misuse of AT - among other things, when ATs are used to apprehend other AT users as if they were criminals, the way Kaito does. Despite his refusal to use ATs, Akito loves the sky and feels completely at home mid-air. He's also still pretty competent at analyzing battles, and that's at least part of the assistance he gives Agito when they cooperate during battles. Akito is probably the most well-read of the three of them, and appears to enjoy studying the English language. He loves Agito and fears (but also respects and probably feels somewhat affectionate for) Lind.

Finally, Lind is the oldest personality and the one who tends to be dormant most of the time.

As a note: since he is a copy of Gazelle's consciousness and Gazelle was a woman, his gender is not actually immediately obvious. Most of the fandom appears to take him for male, so this is what I'm going with.

As it is, he mirrors a lot of Gazelle's speech and behaviours, which, in turn, she learned from Kaito. As such, Lind presents himself as very cocky and self-assured, to the point of machismo. He has absolute confidence in his abilities, and believes himself to be far superior to not only Agito and Akito, but most AT riders in general. He considers Akito and Agito to be immature, weak, and childish - they are really just minding his body until it grows strong enough for him to take over. He also appears to know far more about their body and their mind, and is able to “cage” Akito and Agito within mental barriers so that they cannot interfere once Lind takes over.

Although Lind is aware of the major conflicts going on within the world of AT, his main focus seems to be on Kaito as well as Nike and Sora. It is obvious he very much wants to avenge Gazelle and regards Nike and Sora as his targets. Lind is also very protective of Kaito, and is absolutely furious when Kaito is injured during the fight with Arthur and Shallot. Even more so than Agito, he has an intensely casual attitude to violence and murder, at least when it pertains to people he doesn't consider to be innocent bystanders.

For all of his condescension, he appears to have a somewhat caring and even parental attitude towards Akito and Agito. He's made comments to the extent of enjoying seeing their growth, and most recently appears to have struck a truce with his other personalities. Lind even told Shallot and Arthur that Agito and Akito have made his body stronger than Gazelle's previous one - that his body “has always had six wings.” Currently, he is back in a dormant state after exhausting himself with the fight against Arthur and Shallot, and has entrusted both the body and Kaito back into Agito's care.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: They will probably first take a good, close look around to orient themselves as to the structure and politics of this world. I don't think Agito would hurry to align himself with any one faction until he's absolutely certain of the ways it would benefit him. Their main goal, however, would always be finding a way out.

First Person Sample:

Ooh, I figured it out!

[The boy in the video sounds genuinely pleased with himself. He appears to be standing outside, not far from the baseball diamond. There is blood on his face and his clothes are somewhat obviously tattered, neither of which seems to faze him very much.]

Hello, citizens of, um... [He appears to consult something off-screen.] Siren's Port! My name is Akito and... I guess I've just arrived. That probably happens a lot, right? Since you have signs and everything.

But, um... what I'd really like to know is who is in charge of this city? And if there's any way to have a meeting... I'd really like to talk to that person, if I could.

In any case, thank you very much and we hope to be out of your hair soon, hee hee. [Smiling, he gives one last, friendly wave, and then the camera tilts and turns off.]

Third Person Sample

It had been a long fucking day full of shocking fucking revelations and exhausting fights. Everything hurt, his uniform needed mending, the ship was sinking, and Crow and the rest of them were off doing God knew what...

So when he found himself being yanked into a vortex of vertigo and nausea, Agito was not so much surprised as thinking, Fucking hell, what is it now?! Minutes later, he was stumbling to his feet in some dirty run-down field. The getting up was more of an automatic reaction than anything; Agito wasn't sure he could have fought anything at that point, with how much it took out of him just to keep his balance and not hurl right then and there. Even thinking hurt.

Somewhere inside, something stirred. Let me... Akito, worried but persistent. You're exhausted. Let me.

“What if it's a trap?” It was easier to speak aloud at this point. He had no clue what had happened, but going from a battlefield to... whatever this was-- this wasn't a good sign. It had to be some kind of trick. Any moment now, someone, maybe even Sora and Nike, would show up and attempt to...

There is no one here, Agito.

He blinked, and for the first time looked up, actually looked around. Akito was right: the field was empty.

And if it hadn't been...?

“Damn it!” He hated this, hated this weak body and its inability to endure the kinds of things that people like Crow seemed to be able to take in their stride. Crow would probably have gone through five freakouts by this point; Agito barely had enough energy to manage one. “You can't fix this...”

But Akito wasn't going to let it go, and Agito already knew, as well as he knew that Akito was right. It wasn't only physical exhaustion; his mind was reeling with the events of the past hour. Somehow, Akito had dealt with it all much better than Agito could.

He had no choice. Even if another threat was on its way - especially if another threat was on its way - Agito had to take the moment to recuperate. His fingers were shaky when he reached up and fumbled for the white medical eye patch over his left eye.

Moments later, Akito looked up, frowned briefly, and then promptly bent over to vomit. (Mostly because he suspected he would feel immediately less nauseous afterwards, and indeed this was soon proven to be true.) After a grimace and much wincing - he had forgotten how much exhausted limbs could ache, and this was worse than the usual - he zeroed in on the signs posted around the baseball diamond.

“Agito, look...” he muttered, more to himself, since Agito had already retreated to a dark tumultuous corner of his mind and was paying only minimal attention. These looked like... guides? Careful of his still-shaky balance, he ambled over to check them out.

“How odd.” It was a little worrisome, this - just from a quick skim of the things posted, it looked like they had somehow ended up in a foreign place indeed. But who would put them here? And why..?

It reminded him of an old American movie he'd watched.

“I really don't think we're in Kansas anymore...” Though all that really meant was that they had to find - whatever this place's equivalent of the Wizard was! Someone to take them home, because surely there would have to be someone who could. And the sooner they started looking, the sooner they could return home -- the sooner they could make sure Ikki and the others were alright.

First, they would have to find people... and maybe someone who had mint gum on them. Akito's mouth felt really, really gross, and that was no way to greet Ikki-kun when they returned.
