Ryan the Bug Man just left. For the princely sum of $125, he drenched the main wasp nest in the side storm door frame, along with about nine different "satellite" nests in various areas along the undersides of the overhanging part of the roof (I'm sure there's a technical term for this area, but damned if I know it) and other locations with Sweet ( Read more... )

At first, I read the phrase as "residual detergent action," and I couldn't figure out why that might be important to keeping wasps away.

Don't feel bad. You can crunch all you want, Mother Nature'll make more. My philosophy in regards to bugs is this: Bugs have the whole outdoors to make themselves at home in. When I'm outside, in nature, it's my own ass if I run into bugs. In/on my house is a different story, though. Once they enter that territory, I am the top predator, and they are, well, bugs. No mercy. No pity. You think they wouldn't do it to us if they could?
