Right Radio

My husband has often asked me how I can stand to listen to right-wing radio talk show hosts. I've told him that I like hearing differing points of view, and that I am most interested to hear if there is rationale behind the opinions (instead of dogma such as "that's how it's always been done" or "that's what the Bible says ( Read more... )

Holy shit. . . the Dr. Laura show. . . It's kind of like a trian wreck. You don't want to look . . . but you *have* to. . . I can't stand her, or her ideas, but god. . . I have to listen sometimes too just to justify that the crap that she spews is for real. Ugh.

I guess I keep hoping that someone will say something like, "I asked you for advice on what color to paint my dining room, Laura. Whether or not I'm currently fucking my fiancé has nothing to do with that, and is furthermore none of your damned business, you sick freak."

But... I guess a call that appeared to be verging in that direction would get disconnected long before it got to that point, eh? *sigh*

I listen to right wing radio at times too. I like the adrenaline rush it gives me and I also enjoy yelling at the radio, when I get bored with yelling at the moron drivers out there. It's cathartic.

Oh, I hear ya. I've done my share of maniacally screaming at the radio-- thankfully the windows are generally up in my vehicle.

Oh, I don't waste time with Dr. Laura -- I listen to George Bogle. He is a hoot! A gen-yew-wine old-timey, frothing at the mouth, a-men and hal-lay-lew-yah bible-thumper. I didn't think such things existed anymore, but they do.

'course, you gotta be up in the middle of the night to hear his ravings, but I'm usually going home from work then.

:D

Whoa, d00d. THIS reverend has a gym! How cool is that?

I was looking at that page, left side column under "State-of-the-Art Equipment," and for a second I thought it said, "secularized machines.

I was thinking, damn... what a thoughtful guy. He's even set aside a portion of his facility for atheists and agnostics to have a workout, even if they don't join the church ;)

Yeah, I know it's not that late yet, but obviously I need to hit the hay. I'm not cogitating well....

Sounds like Dr Laura is an entertainer who uses callers as props.
