Love thy neighbor as thyself is usually construed as:
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
The only problem is that "as thyself" is misconstrued to be, "As if you (thyself) were a separate person from you -the "I"- and this is where people get stuck.
If you don't count yourself in "everyone," "everybody," or "anyone," then you will know that you segregate yourself from those who deserve happiness, fairness, respect, and love.
The only other thing would be to realize that you can never give everything you have. It "is like a well: used but never used up."
"The more you use it, the more it produces; the more you talk of it, the less you understand."
"Hold on to the center."
