Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last night in dramatic fashion - the first team to win two in the salary cap era - to end a fairy tale season.

I'm so, so happy right now. Probably more on this later, but right now I'm just basking in the joy and amazement and the novelty of for once following a team in its Championship year.

YES MARE THEY ARE MY TEAM. <3333333 And you can tell A that the Hawks avenged the Leafs! (Though if he's still following hockey at all, I'm sure he already knows. XD)

MARE THE HAWKS JUST WON A STANLEY CUP FOR THE SECOND TIME IN FOUR SEASONS. And this season really was special - nobody expected much from the Hawks to begin with, since they had mostly the same roster as they did last year (and they got kicked out in the first round of the playoffs last year). Then they galloped out of the gate with a historic point streak, continued on to win the President's Trophy only to have everyone go OH NOES PRESIDENT'S TROPHY IS CURSED YOU'LL NEVER WIN THE CUP NOW, fell behind 3-1 to Detroit in the playoffs and then battled back to win the series, outmatched the Kings whom 70% of the analysts predicted would beat them, and finally reached the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, whom 90% of the analysts were predicting would win in 6-ish ( ... )

Ahahaha, what? XDDD And thank youuuuu; it's still like a dream come true. Seriously, couldn't have gone better if it had been scripted. THEY SHOULD MAKE A MOVIE OUT OF THIS SEASON HONESTLY.

I saw someone tweet that the Hawks winning the Stanley Cup is going to make AO3 explode, so there's always that. XDDD Have you seen Goon btw? :)

I don't know; I haven't wanted to write at all since the win - still busy reading/watching/reliving everything about the game and the season! :)))

I saw that, and the first thing I thought about was you. Congrats! XD

(Also, everyone seemed really into them this playoff season, for some reason. The lions in front of the Art Institute sported their helmets, and the Field Museum brachiosaurus was also apparently a diehard fan, and didn't take off his XXXL Blackhawks Jersey for weeks.)
