Hell yeah!

Class attended. Thesis defended. Celebratory beers consumed. Student forgotten about. Gratuitously large hot dog purchased. Student remembered. Hot dog eaten. Student tutored.

And I'll be graduating with honors in a week and a half! Damn straight!!

It was kind of scary, but it was also amusing and satisfying. The worst part was having to give a twenty minute speech about a seventy page paper, which was a little like telling your life story within the time it takes to go through the line at McDonalds. The best part was getting asked legitimate questions that I actually had answers for, and responding to them with authority from behind a little podium, and at one point, realizing that my advisor was engaged in an extensive doodle on his yellow legal pad.

But it turned out not to be as adversarial of a process as I had feared it to be! It's probably the only time in my life that I will ever get to talk to such a willing audience about Jose Marti and Cuban independence. Nobody even tried to sneak away!
