Okay dudes, so I finally found out this afternoon that as of the end of September I'll be headed off to Mozambique for two years and three months!

The official language that I will have to learn is Portuguese, and the climate is tropical to subtropical, depending on where you are.

More info to come, but in the meantime, HUZZAH!!

i agree! i say congrats are in order. last night while talking to my mom i told her you finally got your assignment and that it was in mozambique...for a short while there was silence...then she said, "is that in Africa?"
muahaha...parents are funny...i then told her where it was in relation to the african continent and she seems stoked for you...so huzzah! :D

Haha, yeah... my dad had a similar reaction. He looked simultaneously blank and displeased, which I think was probably the face that he would have made no matter which African country I got assigned to. :)

Yay Mozambique! I love that country. It's so... pleasant. John Carey's wife was born there... There are a lot of Rich ex-pats there also!

I bet there are! I hear that the beaches there are awesome. You'll have to come visit me if you find yourself experiencing a hankering for Africa.
