This morning I had my pre-op meeting with my doctor. I'm scheduled to go in on Wednesday at 5:30am, and will be on the table by 7:30am to have the mega-fibroid (the one that's big enough to squish everything else out of the way and cause pain) and a polyp from the inside of the uterus removed. Oof, this sounds a lot like when I had to have my neck opened up and my thyroid taken out. Maybe it would help if you lined up books and videos to read or watch after the operation, so that you'll have something to look forward to, or at least think about?

I actually got myself one of the new shiny Kindle e-readers, and have a few books lined up for the "I'm stuck in bed and can't do much" time. Of course, that's also the first week of Nanowrimo...

I also suggest movies, the simpler, the better. That way if you drift off, it won't matter. After the ankle surgery, I ended up watching both the Madagascar movies and the Penguins of Madagascar on DVD thanks to my mum. Not the greatest films ever, but pretty good when in a drugged state.
