i think you should tell me about that other job offer and if i don't like it...ahem...if it sounds good for you then you should make the move. you have a job that, despite it's minimal drawbacks and hindrances, lets you help people. how can you give that up? sure money is nice, but think about your job the way i do (an incredibly biased perspective): you make it so i don't have to teach these kids english. that comes with an inherrent glory that only ten people will ever know about. i used to want to rule, take over everything...manifest destiny. but i don't need that anymore. now that need for glory is satiated when my assistant principal says things like, i've helped some kids get into literature and poetry. i don't know if i can work at a non-profit place anymore. schools, colleges...i can work there, but, again, only to help people. don't give that up.

I don't see the problem in finding out lots of informationa bout the 78,000 job, and then weighing the pros and cons of each, and then making a decision. That seems rather like a good idea to me.
