I will never understand the mindset of people who get upset at these sorts of requests. We're all here for pretendy fun times. Why in the world do you want the person you're RPing with to be uncomfortable with the scene?

Boils down to selfishness. People who say 'Oh man, totally didn't know, sorry, let's change the plot some and do something else' are people you want to keep as friends.

People who get mad at you for requesting comfort in a scene can't think of anyone but themselves.

Also, thanks for saying something. I'll be happy to accommodate you in the future and please let me know if I ever do or write anything that makes you uncomfortable.
