1. i never watched that. 2. don't listen to him. 3. don't listen to .. yoko, either. 4. don't listen to the beatles either (my father didn't like them so he never had any of their old music or whatever, and i don't really have any interest to listen to them. bad me!). 5. you can come play in my basement if you ever need to. 6. i do believe that sartre was existentialist? aka read: nausea and/or his play, "no exit". and that's all i know. =]
1. why not?! 2. good. he's dead. which is also good. 3. she does anime soundtrack music. unless you're a supper level 1000 geek, you probably wouldn't like it. or would you?! woooaaa! 5. I'll take you up on that. 6. thanks :)
1. ewww 4. i would continue to argue that john lennon, but now i realized i don't care 6. even though i'm not allie:
- existentialism and human emotions: sartre - human, all too human: nietzsche (he is usually considered a nihilist, but this is a misconception, his ideas are much more similar to existentialism, and though he can be "nihilistic" he is truly not a nihilist)
I haven't looked at the list, but I'm pretty sure it has me beat.
I didn't like Nietzsche all that much. I thought Human all too human was really...stupid in a lot of places. Like the ones about how women aren't worth anything. And how that nobles were so much better than the poor. But overall it was pretty ok. Also, the whole jesus-allegory was really overdone.
Nietzsche is an...iconoclast, says my english teacher.
oh, nietzsche definately has his share of stupid moments, but i still feel like it was worth reading. neitzsche is definately iconoclastic, and more focused on rebelling against philosophies that were pre-existing than laying out his own ideas, which is a shame because that can be pretty annoying to read about (it's like he's whining in a very arrogant way) but at the same time i think he has some worthy things to say, so i would still recommend it. furthermore, there were many existentialists (whether considered "true" existentialists or not) that were more like more like neitzsche in that regard.
though i liked "the gay science" better, but i'm not sure how great of a book that is if you want to know about existentialism. the stranger is a good suggestion, though i haven't finished it yet. but from what i've read so far it is good.
also, far too many philosophers get boners over huge and overly elaborate metaphors that aren't that necessary really, and nietzche is like that a lot.
