arizona is supposed to be breathtakingly beautiful in parts. but if you don't like the desert and hot weather i would not suggest it. i am not sure what to suggest. i really like LA, but a lot of people don't. i would suggest sacramento too, but a) i'm not there and b) sacramento kind of really sucks.
