I love Rodney's grey jacket, pure and simple. But I do have some thoughts about it and why he has it. lj-cut for possible spoilers.
I have to admit, the first time I thought we saw Rodney's grey jacket was in The Defiant One which fit in nicely to the whole 'Rodney's tan jacket is ripped so he starts to use a grey one'. However, then I realised that he wears it all the way back in the episode Suspicon, when they take on the Wraith.
But why does he have a second grey jacket but other members of the science team don't seem to wear it?
My second theory, once the 'cut up, new start etc.' one was ruined was perhaps the grey was what the sceience team wore while on missions [see the spoiler pic of Rodney and Carson from S2 as an example.] but Rodney wore the tan some missions before swiching fully to the grey one. So, that couldn't work.
Anyone have any theories on the grey jacket, where it came from, why only Rodney wore it?
It is a symbole of him as a fighter? Note he did wear it during a fight scene early on in the season.
Or is it simply Sheppard was worried that he was in danger when he wore the tan top as it singled him out as a scinentist?
Does he wear it in other ep's before Defiant One?
Thoughts?
I need help becasue my idea for a ficlet about the jacket was destroyed becasue of seeing him wear it in Suspecion.
