~tears hair out~

That's any WHITESPACE more. Every time, because you've done it more than once here.

Also, although onboard is a legit word, it's whitespace time again in the context in which you've used it.

Trust me, I'm a doctor proofie :P :P :P

Really? I've always seen both of those as compound words, I though, except in a few circumstances. The "on board" one makes sense, though I'm surprised "anymore" doesn't work. Huh. Live and learn.

Well, 'any more' as you're using it is identical in meaning to 'any longer', and you wouldn't use 'anylonger', would you? :-)

BTW the other day I had to edit a press release for a media company. An American media company. Meaning that I had to - where there was a bit that included quotation marks and that I felt needed re-phrasing or extending - remember to put the quotation marks on the outside no matter what, i.e. American English-style. Oh, the pain, the pain... :D

Well, no, but I know I've seen anymore used as one word. I always thought there was a difference between, for example, "I can't take any more" and "I can't take it anymore" (one being a reference to quantity, the other to time). It may be a bastardized usage, but it's one I'm accustomed to.

You mean in Britain you don't have to always put the quotation marks on the outside?! For once I'm not the only one who disagrees with a grammatical rule! :D

This is brilliant, a very moving tale, and very likely to have been what happened for Donna.

Thank you! I just got to thinking about how that's ANOTHER alternate world/timeline she's been through and wondered what she was up to then. And now I'm curious where Sarah Jane was in all of that too, and any other characters we've known in London.

I really like this. It's plausible (although I wonder why they didn't kill her? Still a bit confused on that), and you capture Donna's voice wonderfully. This is my new canon.

Thank you! I was just hinting at the idea that she and the Doctor were still destined to meet (Dalek Caan guiding events and all), but since the world gets unwritten, I guess it doesn't really matter. In the end, I guess I wanted her alive even though logic dictates that she probably would have provoked the Toclafane into killing her at some point, as she can't keep from standing up when something's wrong and likes "shouting at the world". :)

That's what I thought it was--their destiny. I just wanted to be sure. Great story.
