This is angsty but I like it. There isn't a lot of Lucifer/Gabriel and I think their dynamic is interesting as hell (lololol! Unintended pun)

I'm glad you like it. I'm so enthralled with the Lucifer/Gabriel dynamic. As if you couldn't tell by original fic and supernatural fic and... *clears throat*

There's just some deep pathos I feel for Lucifer, and the fact that he's so lonely and just wants to be loved. Gabriel is the baby of the family and just wants to impress and show his older brother(s) that he cares and...

You know, this is angsty, yes, but it also has Gabriel not obliterated, so it's a happier place than where the episode left me. I mean, i feel Gabriel's pain, and it hurts as hell, but it's also Gabriel regaining the family he lost, and while he'll have to rediscover himself, or rather, discover and learn his new self, he's not alone.

And you could see his pain, how he felt alone and how he felt he could never reconnect with his brothers, how that's also part of the reason he chose to side with the humans.

So, yes, this is bittersweet. But it's also hopeful. Lucifer's being Lucifer, taking what he wants, or reclaiming what he won't accept to lose, and maybe Gabriel couldn't make that choice for himself without taking into account what it implied for the human race he'd become so fond of, but now that it's been made for him, I do think he will be able to find personal happiness eventually.

And have I mentioned how he's alive? Because even without the awesomeness of the rest of this, that fact alone has got one over the show.

You grasp so perfectly what I was aiming for with this. What the characters want and represent.

I think it's you. You know your characters' motivations, and their very cores, and it comes across in their actions and your writing, and you have a way of forming images in my mind to make up their personalities, so subtly, without the need to state it as such. The details aren't superfluous, instead adding up to flesh out each character's essence, like you're building them in my mind piece by piece. Only, you know, without me noticing, just fleshing them out a bit more each time, until I feel like I really know them, too.

Also, you're sweet and kind and I love you right back :D
