“Angela, are you serious?” Her roommate, Elisa, demanded from their main room. She sounded disgusted, and Angela was briefly worried as she didn't remember doing anything to piss Elisa off.
Fuck. Maybe she'd done something while drunk. Fuck again. She hoped she wouldn't be expected to apologize.
“Serious what?” Angela tried to sound innocent as she mumbled around her toothbrush and mouthful of foam. She was starting to silently panic. Sticking her head out of the bathroom, she found the other woman holding Angela's personal PADD. Angela's eyebrows furrowed with deep concern, and hoped for her own sake that Elisa wasn't reading the personal messages - because then Angela was definitely in deep shit.
Luckily for both cadets, the cat fight brewing in Angela's head didn't play out. Instead, Elisa read loudly from the PADD, all dramatics and dripping with mockery. “As she flounced across the room and threw herself into her chair the bodice of her carelessly fastened negligee gaped and there was a flash of creamy skin -”
“Elisa!!” Angela screeched. She paused long enough to spit into the sink, and stormed into the room to snatch the PADD away, toothpaste still in hand. “Stop it!” Her face was flushed bright red with humiliation. They'd been living together a whole semester and until that moment Angela had been able to keep her most embarrassing hobby a secret.
Elisa was doubled over with laughter, nearly in tears as Angela fumed. “I can't believe you read this shit! Is this what you're reading when you say you're reviewing class notes?”
If it was at all possible, Angela turned a deeper red. “No,” she said with as much of her broken dignity as she could muster. “Not always.”
