I very much don't have the spoons to try and respond to everyone's comments individually, not right now. But I wanted to post a huge "thank you!" to everyone who donated money towards covering Tali's vet bills/cremation and/or who helped spread the word of it. There's really nothing you could have done differently. I thought about it earlier and I'm still baffled at how she managed to get stuck. Tripping over a cord and making something fall is something that could happen, but getting stuck is just weird. Plus, cats usually manage to go through small spaces without disturbing anything. It was just a major case of bad luck.

The cord loops just a little, enough that her foot could have gotten caught in it. I think she must have panicked and, instead of trying to back up and get loose, she immediately went for the option of chewing her way free.

Oh my goodness! I just saw your post. So very sorry for your loss.

There's no way you could have foreseen that happening. A dog getting tangled, is more understandable (both dogs here have managed it) and my husband getting his foot caught and going down like a felled tree. Our kitties have never, but they don't go under the desks here.
