THAT was a waste of online ticket ordering.

After seeing the 12:30 AM showing of X-Men 3, I find myself disappointed. VERY disappointed.

There may be more ranting on this later, but at the moment, I'm much too tired.

It just seemed like they dumbed down all the fairly complex characters they had in the first two movies (and those they didn't dumb down, they killed). Wolverine was entirely consumed by his "love" for Jean, which bugged me anyway because he never really had any good reason to love her. Their entire relationship can be summed up pretty much like this:

Jean: Hi. I'm Jean.
Logan: Hi. I love you.
Jean: What?
Logan: I love you so much I'd die for you.

Because that's about as much as they've ever said to each other.

Rogue's whole storyline was stupid, too. And what happened to Bobby? He was looking for her in that line, there was the attack by Pyro, and then magically Bobby was back at the manor. Rogue wasn't supposed to desert everyone when they needed her, she's not that dumb.

I liked Juggernaut, Beast and Kitty Pryde. They were all pretty well-done, even if Kitty and Juggernaut weren't exactly given personalities. I liked the cure kid, too, and Archangel.

Magneto was, like everyone else, dumbed down. He's a smart enough guy to realize that if Jean killed Prof. Xavier, he couldn't control her, either.

I was thinking of blaming the director for all of this, but now I think that it's more the screenwriter's fault. I don't know. I was pissed.

P.S. If you stay through the credits, there's an extra bit. However, I'd skip it if I were you.
