You have Power Rangers to thank for that.

In Production II your film gets Telecined for digital editing. In Production I, however, you have less than a steenbeck. Basically, a cutting board, tape, some markers, and a shitty viewing scope thing.

If I had time, money, equipment, money, and of course money, I'd make another version of it. Maybe expand it, make it more in-depth. But it'd have to wait.

That shot of you turning around actually came from the second roll of film we shot the first day at the apartment. I didn't use any of that footage because I knew it would come out like shit, that's why we reshot it on the next day we were there. However, that one shot of turning around was so flamboyant and awesome I knew I had to use it.

HELL YUS.

I felt weird telling my class that I wanted to do a movie about ninjas because practically everything about them now is campy and stupid (i.e. Ask a Ninja). I wanted to make a real fucking ninja movie. I was dead serious.

2 things were supremely gay about the bolex camera:

1. I literally had to go to a dirty, dusty small corner room in the workshop, hide myself under the huge black coat, and change the film in that small bit of darkness. It was the biggest pain in my ass and I'm so glad I don't have to do it again.
2. On the second day of shooting, on our second roll of the day, the camera started behaving oddly. When I got back to my house, it turns out in the middle of filming the film snapped. Most of the film got off the spools and bunched up into the housing. Essentially, all that footage was worthless. So that sucked dicked. But what we reshot turned out well, so meh.
