saddest french song ever (and my rough translation)

J'ai longtemps parcouru son corps
Effleuré cent fois son visage
J'ai trouvé de l'or
Et même quelques étoiles
En essuyant ses larmes
J'ai appris par coeur
La pureté de ses formes
Parfois, je les dessine encore
Elle fait partie de moi

ah I really like this song.

it's not only emo ... or rather émo, but also poétique! i really like the "j'ai trouvé de l'or et même quelques étoiles en essuyant ses larmes" imagery.

but the coolest like...literary device thingy to me in the song is the way they say encore. like, look at it! it is a double meaning! and listen to the way they sing it! they blend it, and when i wrote out the lyrics, i couldn't decide what line to put "encore" on even cuz it's like "sometimes i draw-in-my-mindishness her forms again" and ALSO "still, she is a part of me". cuz encore can mean "again" or "still" and here it means BOTH! it's so freaking cool :)

It's called "Dernière Danse" by Kyo...a friend burned me a french mix, which is where I got the song, but I'm sure you can find it on amazon or something, lots of places carry good selections of international music. I also recommend "La Tribu du Dana" by Manau and "J'ai Demandé à La Lune" by Indochine- those are also really good songs, the former is about an epic celtic battle (crazy french celts) in Bretagne, and the latter is...well a guy asking the moon "si tu voulais encore de moi." FRENCH EMO! I love it.
