i took josh to the portland zoo yesterday as a birthday present. it was awesome. i plan to go back soon with my flip video camera, but i got some ok pictures with my iphone.

Sometimes I feel like I live in a different world than everyone else. A world where the mass media could hear Sarah Palin’s awful, awful speech and NOT give it glowing reviews.

i feel fortunate.

i woke up last night thinking, honest to god, that i was having a heart attack. i think it was the influence of a nightmare i was having. i could hear my heartbeat pounding a couple of times a second, and i couldn’t breathe.

when you get through that, how can you really have a bad day?

i mailed out a letter today. it was addressed to portland’s raphael house. it’s an organization on hawthorne that provides assistance to women and children who have been made homeless as a result of domestic abuse. i hope they really give my application consideration.
