You wrote crazy basement!Spike wonderfully! I think it would be tricky to effectively convey Spike's emotions while keeping him speaking nonsense, but you've done an amazing job of it. I liked the part where Buffy realizes that she is actually out of excuses not to go and see Spike . . . because of course we know she still cares about him, even if things are at a weird place right now.

I had to really think about what he needed to say, so I'm glad it sounded authentic :D Buffy was kind of tough too here--I don't often go venturing in her head.
