You can add your GMail account as a Jabber account (Actually, it has its own protocol section in Pidgin). f you've ever sent me mail on my GMail account, I'll show right up. Otherwise add the GMail account.

Alternatively, your Livejournal account is also a Jabber account.

If you have a GMail account, you can grab Trillian, Pidgin, or another multi-protocol client that supports Jabber and GMail. Then you can just log in and send a message to, if Google is doing their work right, any one of those accounts. Failing that, LJ provides a Jabber account you can use as well. Follow the same instructions.

... In fact, here, I'll link to the LJTalk tutorial and GTalk tutorial back in the article for everyone. I don't want this to be too much of a bother, but i do want to cut back to just jabber.
