i like sublime. but i dont know. i have a radio show. and i have a lot of druggie friends. and they always come and reccomend the same stuff. which i can't play because its in my genre.
but my point is, i know so many people that just listen to sublime, and songs that mention drugs, and it really pisses me off. for instance everybody really likes the "good times are killing me" by modest mouse, because it mentions a lot of drugs, but they don't listen to the rest of the songs that sound pretty much the same with different words.
and i kind of feel like a lot of people i know that listen to sublime just do it, because they know its about drugs and they think its cool.
plus i just get annoyed when people request songs that are not indie, because i'm not supposed to play them. and so yeah.
i dont really know where i was going with that.
im just not too happy with sublime-type music rightnow.
i like sublime based on lyrical genius, but not on lyrical content.
bradley nowell was a brilliant songwriter. the drugs thing is just a coincidence. and it's in no way any reason for which i listen to sublime. you can enjoy it without even noticing the drug references. try listening closely to the music in the background. it's nice.
