This not only applies to me, but every other makers as well ♥ When we(makers) make you something, it's only appreciated when you credit us - Even if it's just a simple link or mention somewhere will do :D I always check if my members use something, then a link or a mention will appear somewhere. It's a reaaaaaaally simple thing :D
This is how you credit for icons(userpics) -
FOR ICONS/USERPICS
When uploading a userpic HERE, you just have to type in the maker's username(with LJ tag like that - example: noahko) to the "comment" section. But for me, I'm fine even if it's without lj tag. Just 7thbullet or sevenstairs will do. Your choice :D
You can copy and paste the codes if you're lazy to type it in LOL. Just change the makers' username in it ♥

HOVER CREDIT
Normally we use other graphics by hover credit - mainly blinkies, banners, icons(if you wanna use them as something else instead of an userpic) etc.
For example, I embed this blinkie to my sidebar:
If you hover(point) over your mouse to this blinkie, you will see something pop out which says "© 7thbullet" right? 8D Yep! That's how you hover credit.
Here's the codes:
You just have to replace "IMAGE URL/DIRECT LINK HERE" to the image's ... link. And of course the makers' name :D
It doesn't have to be hover credit, it can be credited using LJ tag as well. Maybe something like that:
