slow wednesday night

So I have to get three days worth of homework done tonight because Dav and I are leaving on friday for wisconsin and we'll be gone all weekend. I'm so excited; I haven't been skiing all year. Last year I was on the slopes every weekend. Well we'll have to see how much I need to warm up again. No pun intended ( Read more... )

It is wonderful to be out in the country. Every day I go for a walk or take a long drive just to appreciate the subtle lonely beauty of the land. Its everything and its nothing, its empty and blooming with life. The complexities of living in the country are greatly numbered, but if you are a farmgirl, like yourself or me, you intrinsically know what it all is. And boy is it beautiful.

Do you ever get the feeling that its all yours too? Sometimes, when I catch a piece of that natural beauty, I just sort of...sigh...and know that it is mine and mine alone. That soil, those trees, these blackbirds, are all mine. Its more of a harmonious relationship than just plain simple Ownership of a plot of land. Its something in that moment, in that subjective place and time through my eyes alone...its all mine. And no one else's. And I cherish that feeling. It makes my heart do that cliche thing and just burst with joy and exhilaration in that shared understanding of nature and self. Oneness ( ... )
